Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Provide physical therapy services in a K-12 educational setting across multiple schools within the county, supporting students with diverse needs. This full-time, itinerant position offers the opportunity to work with approximately 40 active students and provide consultations throughout various school locations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct physical therapy interventions to students within school environments.
- Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans according to professional standards.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Manage caseload efficiently while traveling between multiple schools in the district.
- Document services and maintain compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and school policies.
Qualifications:
- Valid and active Professional Physical Therapist license.
- Experience working in school-based physical therapy preferred.
- Ability to manage an itinerant caseload across several school sites.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting childrens educational and physical development.
Location: Tavares, FL (Lake County area) with travel required to various schools throughout the county.
This position is contract-based for the current school year, starting as soon as possible and continuing through May 29, 2026. Hours are full-time, approximately 8 hours per day plus a 30-minute unpaid break. The district is highly responsive, providing interview opportunities quickly.
